Goa hangs on

Bangalore: Goa conceded the first innings lead but battled hard to secure a draw against Tamil Nadu in a South Zone KSCA under-13 tournament match that concluded here on Friday.

Correction

In the scores published in the issue dated December 22, it was erroneously mentioned that Goa had scored 79 in its first innings. The official scorers on Friday clarified that a few scoresheets were mixed up and that the score they provided was wrong.

The scores: Tamil Nadu 403 for nine decl. in 114 overs and 70 for four in 20 overs drew with Goa 385 in 144.2 overs (Darshan Misal 176, Damodar Alve 57, K. Bharath Shankar five for 79).

Karnataka 195 in 68.5 overs and 230 in 81.2 overs (Shashank Hulimani 52, Abhisekh Reddy 91, G.H. Vihari four for 59) drew with Hyderabad 347 in 119.2 overs (Akshath Kumar 71, Yathish Reddy 69, Vamishi Vardhan Reddy 44 n.o., Chaitanya Krishna 40) and 33 for two in 4.2 overs.
