KHAMMAM: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will felicitate the `maha' coal fillers as part of the Singareni Day celebrations on Saturday. Uppala Ramakrishna, coal filler of the PK 1 incline, Manuguru, emerged the topper at the company level. With 293 musters, he could fill 1003 tubs during 2005-2006 and it could fetch him a gross earning of Rs 2.97 lakhs. Another coal filler, Gurugula Mankaiah ( KK2 Incline, Mandamarri ) had 283 musters. He could give a production of 723 tubs while earning a gross salary of 2.46 lakhs. SCCL Chief General Manager (personnel) Gangi Reddy said that the company would give due recognition to workers with best performance. The best performers would be felicitated at the main function. He explained that the company had declared 2005-2006 woman empowerment year. It was decided to give due recognition to women with greater involvement in welfare activities. The company would felicitate 13 women from the 13 areas of the company. All the women were members of the Singareni Employees wives association. Kundarapu Shankaramma, wife of a coal filler in Bellampalli area was adjudged best woman of Singareni for 2005-2006. She had taken active participation in the company-sponsored literacy programme .
