Man `kills' wife, ends life

VISAKHAPATNAM: A 60-year-old man, D. Appa Rao, of Gopalapatnam allegedly murdered his wife, hitting her with some object, on Thursday night and hanged himself to death. They had a son and a daughter and even grandchildren. According to the police, Appa Rao had been suspecting the fidelity of his wife Anantalakshmi, 54.

Passengers attacked

Miscreants gave tense moments to train passengers near NAD Kotha Road junction and again at Kancharapalem railway level crossing on Friday night. According to a passenger, the train stopped near Karasa as signal was not given. Three youths walked up to the general coach and began throwing stones, injuring three passengers. The scared passengers closed the doors. The miscreants then got into the train. At Kancha rapalem they alighted and started throwing stones.

Lifer for murder

Sixth Additional District Judge and Special Judge of Mahila Court B. Vinay Kumar on Friday found Jalagadugula Satyanarayana guilty of murdering his wife Santosh Roopa Rani (25) and sentenced him to undergo life imprisonment. The Kancharapalem police investigated the case.
