Awareness programme on snakes

Staff Reporter

BHUBANESWAR: Aiming at making visitors aware about the role of snakes in the eco-system, the Nandankanan Zoological Park, in collaboration with the Snake Helpline, will organise an education-cum-awareness programme. Titled, `Myth and reality on snakes', the programme is for two days beginning Sunday.

"We want schoolchildren to listen to experts. The number of visitors are more in the months of December and January," park director Ajit Pattnaik said.

The Snake Helpline was founded by a group of research students who had been rescuing snakes that stray into houses.
