Dalit industrialisation policy on the anvil

Staff Reporter

NELLORE: In a bid to help Dalits across the State in setting up small-scale industries, the State Government will soon come out with Dalit industrialisation policy.

As part of the Government's initiative, any Dalit irrespective of age and academic qualification can get direct loans from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 1 crore through the Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation Limited (APSCCFCL) based on guidelines. The screening of beneficiaries will be conducted both at the district and State level in two phases.

Talking to reporters on Saturday, Chairman of APSCCFCL R. D. Wilson said that both the State and the National Scheduled Caste Financial Development Corporation would help the APSCCFCL to give loans to Dalits. The APSCCFCL will also set up Dalit industrial corridors in all districts across the State to protect lands worth Rs. 10,000 crores belonging to the corporation.
