CHAMPIONS: Students of the Godutai Dodappa Appa Arts and Commerce Girls' College emerged the overall champions at an inter-collegiate youth festival in Bijapur.
GULBARGA: Students of the Godutai Dodappa Appa Arts and Commerce Girls' College emerged the overall champion at the Karnataka State Women University Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival which concluded in Bijapur on December 16. Students of the college who participated in 25 events in the youth festival emerged winners in 11 events, and secured the second place in eight events and third place in four events. Under the guidance of teachers, including Chaya Bharatnur, Mahanda Diggaonkar, Maitradevi Halemani, Nayanathara and Santeeta Patil, the students won gold medals in the light classical music, classical music, dance events, drama, fine arts, elocution, essay and other literary events. A total of 33 colleges from all over the State participated in the festival held for two days. Poojya Sharanabasavappa Appa, president of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vadak Sangh, which runs the college, and principal Ningamma Patangi congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the college.
