ADDED ATTRACTION: Coast Guard ship `Kasturba Gandhi,' berthed at Beypore port in Kozhikode on Saturday.
KOZHIKODE: The much-awaited helicopter ride organised in connection with the Malabar Shopping festival will begin on Monday. Organisers have made arrangements for the rides from the Kozhikode Medical College grounds from December 25 to 31. Shoppers at the festival can have a ride to have an aerial view of Kozhikode city. The timings are from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. King Rotters and Air Chartered Private Limited has arranged the helicopter. The rate for a person is Rs.1, 000. For bookings contact 0495-3052514, 3052515, 3052516. An added attraction during the month-long festival was the opportunity given to the public to board the Coast Guard Ship "Kasturba Gandhi" at Beypore port on Saturday. Entry was free to the public. Amid tight security at the port the ship was opened for visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ship, which arrived on Saturday, would set sail on Sunday. Facilities were also made for the public to get an understanding of the functioning of the Coast Guard. Health seminars to be conducted in connection with the festival will begin on Sunday. The seminar will focus on discussion on taking preventive measures against contagious diseases. It will be held at the Kandamkulam Jubilee Hall.
