Danny Derek slams 170

Hyderabad: MVSR College recorded a 134-run win against Nruptunga College on the back of Danny Derek Prince's 170 in the inter-college cricket tournament for Ranga Reddy Trophy here on Saturday.

The scores: Hindi Maha Vidyalaya 101 (D. Ravindra Naik four for 29) lost to OU Engg College 102 for three (Ramesh 45 not out, A. Shiva Prasad 49 not out).

MVSR College 333 for seven (Danny Derek Prince 170) bt Nruptunga 199.

SP College 260 for seven (P. Sandeep 55, G.S. Shandilya 42, D.B. Ravi Teja 51) bt AV College 138 (Piyush Raj 61).

Nizam College 227 (Sunil Nayudu 64) lost to VV College (Day) 230 for eight (Narender Kumar 46, S. Rajender 70, Deepak Hotkar 41 not out).

Friday's matches: AV College 216 (Danny Derek Prince 58, S. Karthik 46, Baljeet Singh four for 37) lost to Bhavan's Vivekananda college 220 for eight (Kushal Jilla 84 not out).

Wesley Degree College 274 (Gautam Raju 84, Md. Azmath Khan 78, Sridhar four for 54) bt VV College (Day) 167 (Rajender 55).

SRTS posts win

SRTS-I Hyderabad recorded a six-wicket win against NRTS-II (Jammu) in the Powergrid inter-region cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The scores: NRTS-II, Jammu 110 lost to SRTS-I Hyderabad 112 for four.

NERTS Shillong 126 (Mahapatra four for 31) lost to ERTS-II, Kolkata, 127 for five (K. Srihari 41).

ERTS-I 34 lost to NRTS-I 38 for two.

Magan Singh dead

Former Indian Railways kabaddi player Magan Singh expired on Thursday at his residence. He was 54. Singh was a senior ticket inspector in South Central Railway and represented Hyderabad in 10 senior Nationals. The Hyderabad Kabaddi Association in a statement expressed its condolences to the bereaved family members while recalling the contributions of the late Magan Singh to the sport in different capacities.

Friends XI wins

V. Friends XI scored a four-wicket win against Dudes XI in the Jai Bhagawathi Cup floodlit cricket tournament at QQSUDA Stadium here.

The scores: Dudes XI 188 for eight (G. Manish 55) lost to V. Friends 192 for six (Mukesh Gupta 43).

Bodybuilding championship

The Amrut Yuva Sena and Golden Star Youth Cultural & Sports Organisation will conduct the Open bodybuilding championship for `Mr. Champion' title on December 24 at 10.00 a.m. at the Yadav Complex (Malakpet Road). The AYS chairman Mr. Amrut Kumar Jain will be the chief guest for the event.
