HYDERABAD: First-time MLAs who constitute 50 per cent of the legislators' strength in Assemble, have gone back "highly disappointed and frustrated" after its just-concluded winter session, Legislature Affairs Minister K. Rosaiah said.
At a press conference here on Saturday, the Minister said the new generation legislators were enthusiastically waiting to highlight problems of their constituencies. But they did not get an opportunity to speak. However, they were crestfallen, as the Opposition parties stalled proceedings all days by insisting on admission of their adjournment motions or by raising irrelevant political issues.
Meanwhile, the Congress Legislature Party urged Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy to discuss with political parties the modalities for ensuring smooth conduct of the House. Addressing a press meet on Saturday, Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said discussions on several issues were not taken up in the session since the Opposition "wasted time, insisting on debates on adjournment notices".
