Bail plea of Telgi aide rejected
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Karnataka High Court on Friday rejected the bail petition by Mujamil Ahmed Saliq, an accused in the multi-crore stamp paper racket and a close associate of Abdul Karem Lala alias Telgi, the prime accused.
Mujamil of Tumkur and another accused, Abdul Khuddus of Kolhapur in Maharashtra had sought bail before the High Court.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had during the last hearing opposed bail, saying that both are involved in the racket and accused in different cases.
While Mujamil had sought regular bail, Khuddus had cited medical grounds.
Both the bail applications had come up for hearing before Justice Mohan Shantanagouder.
Justice Mohan Shantangouder rejected the bail plea of Mujamil.
He adjourned to January 3 hearing onthe the bail plea of Khuddus.
