KSRTC director board reconstituted

Thiruvananthapuram: The director board of the KSRTC has been reconstituted with T.P. Sen Kumar as chairman and managing director.

The other members of the board are Norka Principal Secretary Jiji Thomson, Finance (Expenditure) Secretary Ashwini Kumar Rai, Law Secretary P.S. Gopinathan, MD of the KTDFC Rajashri Ajith and Finance Director of the Central Road Transport and Highway Department T. Srindhi, among others. — Special Correspondent

DHS issues orders for appointment

Thiruvananthapuram: The Director of Health Services (DHS) has issued orders appointing 284 persons from the PSC list as assistant surgeons in vacancies in the primary and community health centres.

The vacancies in the rural areas have been filled through the appointment. The DHS asked the doctors to report for work within 15 days.

A week-long training programme will be conducted for the new recruits next month. — Special Correspondent

Tremors continue in Thrissur

THRISSUR: An earthquake measuring 1.5 on the Richter scale occurred at 9.25 a.m. in Thrissur on Saturday.

Pilgrim dies of heart attack

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 24-year old pilgrim, identified as Murukan of Kancheepuram Nandima Nagar in Tamil Nadu, died of cardiac arrest at

Sannidhanam on Saturday afternoon.

The body has been taken to Kancheepuram in an Ayyappa Seva Sanghom ambulance, later, according to Sannidhanam

Body found

THRISSUR: The body of a 25-year-old man was found in a pond in Marottichal on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Suresh of Pattambally House in Marottichal. The police said Suresh fell into the pond at midnight. — Staff Reporter

Shops gutted

THRISSUR: Two shops at East Fort here were destroyed in a fire on Saturday. In another incident, a private bus caught fire after colliding with a motorbike at Kolazhi on Saturday. No casualty has been reported.
