Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government has announced a five-day week in government offices while rescheduling the timing of working days and reducing casual leave.

From January 1, the State Government offices will work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a half-hour break.

The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Madhu Koda, on Friday, approved the decision Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swaroop said.

The current casual leave of 16 days has been cut down to 12 days.

For implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the Cabinet approved formation of a State-level board headed by the Chief Minister.

In another important decision, no government organisation such as boards, corporations and councils would be allowed to deposit money in banks. — PTI
