"People must work for country's progress"

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: With an excellent future for the country, especially in the information technology sector, people should channelise their energies for the overall development of the nation, the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, said on Friday.

"Bright future"

Inaugurating a 11-day "Home Life Exhibition" at the Congress Grounds complex, Teynampet, here, he said the country at present manufactured all products and it had a bright future. People should apply their mind in the proper direction and work for the progress of the country where there was no dearth of talent, manpower or resources. They should not fritter away their energies in communal disharmony.

Rolling trophy

He suggested to the District Governor, Lions Club International, 324 A-1, L. Shanth Kumar, who declared open a "free diabetes detection and awareness camp," that the organisation could institute a rolling trophy to be given to a college student who promoted communal harmony. Dr. Kumar said it could be done.

Participants

The camp was organised by the Lions Club of Marina Beach.

Syed Muneer Ahmed, Managing Director, Oriental Trade and Expositions Pvt.Ltd., which organised the exhibition, said 150 participants had brought their products for the consumer show.
