MANGALORE: Pilikula Nisargadhama Society has plans to set up a Western Ghat study centre to study the environment of the region, J.R. Lobo, executive director of the society, said at the inauguration of the flower show in Pilikula Nisargadhama on Saturday. Mr. Lobo said it was difficult to organise a flower show in Mangalore, as most of the plants did not grow in the region's climate. Locally cultivated 15,000 plants are on display at the show. Deputy Commissioner Maheshwar Rao said attempts would be made to make the show an annual event, he said. The exhibition will be on until January 2.
