Vasantolsav begins on Tuesday

KOCHI: Vasantolsav 2006, the cultural extravaganza organised by the district administration, will begin on Tuesday.

The six-day festival in its second year, with support from the State Tourism Department and District Tourism Promotion Council, was accorded a national festival status by the Tourism Department, said District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish at a press meet here on Friday. The festival would be included in the department's `Incredible India' campaign as part of the tourism promotion programmes, said Mr. Hanish.

To be held at the peak of the tourist season, the Government expected the programmes to be well received by not only by foreign and domestic tourists but also by the people across the State.
