TIRUPATI: Noted poet and Telugu litterateur Mudivarthy Kondamacharya has been selected for this year's `Saahithi Puraskar' instituted by the Hyderabad-based `Anantha Lakshmikantha Saahithi Peetham'. The 84 year-old veteran poetwill receive the puraskar and a cash prize of Rs.10, 000 from noted playwright Gollapudi Maruthi Rao on January 24. R. Ananthapadmanabha Rao, president of the Saahithi Peetham, instituted in memory of his father Lakshmikantha Rao, has said that the other recipients of the puraskar are — I. Panduranga Rao (Delhi), Ravuri Bharadwaj (Hyderabad), P. Lakshmikantha Setty (Kadapa), S.P. Balasubramanyam (Chennai) and H.H. Brahmananda (Anantapur).
