Sri Lankan firm to set up apparel park in Nellore

APIIC to initially set aside 750 acres for the proposed project


  • Apparel park will have 20 textile units
  • It is expected to generate 30,000 jobs

    NELLORE: After South India Mills Association (SIMA) of Coimbatore, it is now the turn of Sri Lanka-based Asian Apparel Fabric Technology Park Private Limited (AAFTP) to set up an apparel park in the district.

    The Sri Lankan firm will establish an apparel park, which consists of 20 textile units at Chintavaram of Gudur revenue division. The park is expected to generate more than 30,000 jobs to rural people.

    Industrialists from Sri Lanka have already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Government a few days ago.

    The anchor unit holder and developer of the project MAS Park will lead as the Special Purpose Vehicle, a senior official said.
