PUDUCHERRY: All India Congress Committee general secretary V. Narayanasamy took an exception to the criticism that Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi was standing as a stumbling block to development schemes in the Union Territory. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said the criticism by some political parties in this regard was far from "truth and unwarranted." He also urged the administration to speed up the development projects, especially the Port Development and Special Economic Zone. The two would give job opportunities to the unemployed. He flayed former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for her criticism of the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal. The Government had already stated there would not be any deviation in foreign policy because of the deal, he added.
