Governor, YSR greet people

HYDERABAD: Governor Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy have greeted the people, particularly Christians, on the eve of Christmas.

In a message on Sunday, Mr. Thakur described Jesus Christ as a "prophet of love and compassion".

Dr. Reddy observed that Christmas was a symbol of universal love.

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu in a message stated that there was a need to follow the preaching of love expressed by Jesus in these days of violent trends. State BJP president B. Dattatreya appealed to them to follow the preaching of Christ, particularly those relating to charity and love.
