Majestic CC posts comfortable win

Madurai: A six-wicket haul by medium-pacer Sikkander (six for 13) helped Majestic Cricket Club defeat Friends Cricket Club, Trichy by seven wickets in the AVEM Trophy State-level Cricket tournament here on Sunday.

The scores: Friends CC, Trichy 36 in 11.2 overs (Sikkander six for 13) lost to Majestic CC 38 for three in seven overs.

AVEM - I 80 in 19.3 overs (Manikandan five for 18) lost to Lechatelier CC 81 for no loss in 11.4 overs (Manikandan 35 not out).

Kapil Devils CC 141 for seven in 20 overs (Suresh 63) bt Sethu Institute of Technology, Kariyapatti 131 for eight in 20 overs (Silambarasan 37).

TVS Srichakra CC 139 for three in 20 overs (Bava 30 not out) bt APT Guys CC 84 in 19.2 overs (Jaishankar four for nine).

SZ Police posts win

South Zone Police registered a solitary goal victory over Friends Football Club, Thirumangalam in the Madurai District Football Association `A' division league for the Hi-Tech Arai Trophy at Madura College ground on Sunday.

The only goal of the match was scored by outside left Krishnamurthy.

Sadiq shines

S. Sadiq's five for 21 helped Seem Bala Cricket Club, Vedasandun defeat Perfect Cricket Club by 14 runs in the Dindigul District Association third division league at Dindigul on Sunday.

All Rounders CC 156 for six in 24 overs (Packiaraj 37) bt Samiyar Thottam CC 108 for six in 20 overs (Selvam three for 25).

Tuticorin Port posts convincing win

Tuticorin Port Sports Council thrashed Friends Football Club `B' 5-0 in the Tuticorin District Football Association `A' division league at Stadium ground, Tuticorin on Sunday. Vijay (2), Praveen, Suresh and Yesu Selvam were the scorers.

Kaleeswara prevails

Kaleeswara Football Club Kalanivasal prevailed over Blues Football Club, K. Velangudi 2-1 in the Sivagangai District Football Association `A' division league at AUCPE ground, Karaikudi on Sunday.

Sivasubramanian scored both the goals for Kaleeswara in the 24th and 52nd minutes, while Murthy reduced the margin for Blues in the 58th minute.

In another match, Kalaivanar Football Club, K. Palaiyur beat Thennarasu Football Club, Pallathur 2-0. Sheik Mohamed (34th minute) and Karuppiah (55th) scored. — Sports Correspondent
