Anant triumphs in top score junior event

Bangalore: Anant Rajpurohit of ASC Centre won the Junior National Equestrian Championship's Jumping top score junior event at the Embassy International Riding School (EIRS) premises here on Sunday.

The results:

Jumping top score junior: 1. Anant Rajpurohit (ASC Centre), Victor; 2. Ali Asker Mirza (ECE), Arjuna; 3. Cdt. Hem Prakash (Rashtriya India Military College, Dehradun), Royal Calibre.

Dressage junior: 1. Avani Sharma (BRF), Pronto; 2. Aviva Bidapa (EIRS), Sparkler; 3. Aly Asker Mirza (ECE), Appeaser.

Jumping normal children II: 1. Anantya Sahney (ECE), Knight Warrior; 2. Anantya Sahney (ECE), Eldorado; 3. Aditya Virwani (EIRS), Rebellion.

Sanjay Raj to lead

Sanjay Raj and R. Sumalatha will lead the Karnataka men and women's teams respectively in the National senior basketball championship at Jaipur from December 28 to January 4.

The teams:

Men: Sanjay Raj (captain), Prashanth, Srinivasa Gowda, Naresh, Ravinder, Lloyd Antony, Ajmal, K. Ravi Kumar, Roshan, Srinivas Naik, Roney and Dharmapal; Coach: Ramar; Manager: Sridhar.

Women: R. Sumalatha (captain), Rani, Nirupama, S.K. Kavitha, Kruthika, S.N. Rajeshwari, Navya, Sunitha, K. Smitha, Shikha Swarup, Prabhavathi and Joshna Jose. Coach-cum-manager: Srinivasmurthy.

Hitesh scores two

Hitesh's brace helped Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College defeat Fullinfaws College 4-0 in a Rotary Bangalore KSFA inter-collegiate football tournament match here during the weekend. Darius and Saad also scored for the victor.

YCC triumphs

M.S. Vinay's unbeaten 57 guided Young Challenging Cricketers to a title triumph in the Arjun Properties Adhya Cup tournament that concluded here on Sunday.

In the final, Young Challenging Cricketers defeated City Gymkhana by four wickets. City Gymkhana scored 142 in 27.3 overs and Young Challenging Cricketers scored the winning runs in 21.4 overs.

The scores (final): City Gymkhana 142 in 27.3 overs (Dilip 45, Mahesh four for 36) lost to Young Challenging Cricketers 143 for six in 21.4 overs (M.S. Vinay 57 not out).

Big win for ASC

ASC defeated BYS 40-10 in a State kabaddi championship league match here on Sunday.

Other results: Men: New Bharath bt Young Star 47-26; Vijayanagara bt Basavanagudi 45-25; Women: Vijayanagara bt Mather Bangalore 54-29.
