Leander Paes, on Sunday, said that he had acceded to his partner Martin Damm's request to play in the Doha Open and the dates clash with the Chennai tournament. Mahesh, who returned home here from London to spend Christmas with the family, said his right wrist injury has not healed fully. "Doctors in London have advised that I need little more rest," he said. Mahesh said he would miss playing in Chennai. "It is a great venue and has good crowd. Playing there has always been a fulfilling experience. I have to miss out this time," said Mahesh, who was scheduled to partner Simon Aspelin at the Chennai event. He has plans to play in the Sydney ATP event which begins on January.8, ahead of the Australian Open and he kicks off the 2007 season with a new partner, Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic.
