TIRUPATI: D octoral thesis in Sri Venkateswara University will get cleared easily henceforth what with the varsity's Academic Senate giving its nod to a proposal to do away with the age-old system of involving a `foreign examiner' to evaluate the research projects. The Academic Senate which met here recently decided to dispense with the system of inviting a foreign examiner for Ph.D evaluation, which now means all the three adjudicators in the panel will be Indians. SVU authorities indicate that the rule, framed when the country had not many experts within had become redundant in the present days' knowledge explosion. The new regulation will be implemented with retrospective effect and hence all the cases pending thus far with the varsity for want of fixation of foreign examiners will also be brought under its ambit.
