Banks disburse loans for Rs. 1,233 crore

THRISSUR:
Banks in the district disbursed loans for Rs.1232.77 crore till the second quarter of the current financial year that ended September 30.
This was disclosed at a district-level banking review meeting here.
Loans for Rs.516.5 crore were given to agriculture and related sectors against Rs.336.6 crore sanctioned during the same period the previous year.
Loans for Rs.50.56 crore (against Rs.524.74 crore the previous year) were given to small-scale industries.
Non-priority sectors get Rs. 506 cr.
Non-priority sectors got loans for Rs.506.5 crore (against Rs. 518.12 crores the previous year).
Public sector banks disbursed loans for Rs.369.11 crore, private sector banks Rs.277.9 crore, cooperative banks Rs.497.36 crore, regional rural banks Rs.75.82 crore and primary cooperative societies Rs.10 crore.
