India's interests will be upheld, says Pranab

GWALIOR: The country's security would not be compromised under the nuclear deal with the United States and national interests would be upheld while committing to the agreement, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters here on Tuesday.

``No deal will be struck at the cost of the country's internal security,'' he said.

U.S. amendments

"The deal is yet to be made and national interests will be upheld," he said, adding that the U.S. was also in the process of making some amendments to legislation.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had recently clarified India's position on the deal, said the Minister, who was here to attend a function. — PTI
