Islamists kill three Thais
BANGKOK:
Three local residents were shot dead by Islamist militants on Tuesday in Thailand's southernmost province of Narathiwat, local sources told Xinhua.
The source said an unknown number of militants riding motorbikes shot dead three local residents in Narathiwat province's Cha Nae district.
Local police said all the victims are Buddhists and the attackers ran away before the police launched a manhunt.
Narathiwat is among the three Thai southern border provinces plagued by violence related to an ongoing militancy, which has claimed nearly 2,000 lives since it resumed in early 2004. Xinhua
