HUBLI: Members of several organisations submitted memorandum to Union Minister of State for Railways R. Velu, who was in Hubli on Sunday to launch work on the Hubli Railway Station Complex. Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Karnataka Development Forum, Bijapur-Gadag Railway Broad Gauge Horata Samiti and All India OBC Railway Employees Association submitted separate memoranda mentioning their demands. Pralhad Joshi and Manjunath Kunnur, MPs, also submitted their list of demands pertaining to railway facilities. Members of the vedike, expressed their anger against the recent Government Order on allowing only English, Hindi and Tamil name boards on trains, and urged the Minister to withdraw the order immediately. The forum members, led by its president Patil Puttappa, submitted a memorandum demanding improvement of train facilities in the zone. They urged the Minister to carve out two more divisions (Mangalore and Gulbarga) in South Western Railway.
