BELLARY: The Pragathi Grameen Bank Employees' and Officers' Union has threatened to intensify its agitation under the banner of Joint Action Committee to pressure the authorities of the bank and Canara Bank, the sponsor bank, to concede their demands. Ganapati Hegde, Convenor of the Joint Action Committee, and Nagabhushan Rao, all-India organising secretary, told press persons that the demands, including business-linked manpower policy, appointment on compassionate grounds, and revision of benefits and allowances as per the eighth bipartite settlement, had been pending for long and the response from the management was lukewarm even after a protest was staged in front of the head office here.
