Varsity to expel 30 students

Lucknow: The Lucknow University, which has cracked down on unruly behaviour among students, on Tuesday decided to expel 30 students who did not provide satisfactory replies to suspension notices served on them.

``We have prepared a list of 30 student to be expelled. The list will be released on Wednesday,'' said a university official.

The university had suspended 229 students and given them a chance to file their replies on the decision. Only 80 students filed replies and 30 of them will be expelled, officials said.

The university had earlier served notices to outsiders illegally residing in its campus and asked them to vacate the premises. It sought the help of the Municipal Corporation and police to evict them, officials said.
