BANGALORE: Firing the day's best score of three over par 74, Rommel Mazumdar led the field in both the `A' and `B' categories of the Sunfeast all-India junior and sub-junior golf championship, which got underway at the Karnataka Golf Association course here on Tuesday.
Mazumdar had birdies on the first and 11th but dropped shots on the third, fifth, seventh, 12th and 18th. Category `C' leader Ashbeer Saini also displayed superb control as he fired four birdies on the fourth, eighth, 17th and 18th. However, bogies on the first, second, sixth, 12th and 15th and a double bogey on the 10th prevented him from carding a better round.
The scores: Category `A' (15-17 yrs): Rommel Mazumdar 74, Rashid Khan, Divyanshu Bajaj 75, Saurabh Bhaduri, Udayan Mane 76, Kanishk Tulsyan 78, Amanjyot Singh, Rudresh Pratap, Adarsh Mukherjee 79. Category `B' (13-14 yrs): Rommel Mazumdar 74, Raghav Bhandari, Kapil Kumar 77, Khalin Joshi 78, Ali Akmal Jan 79. Category `C' (11-12 yrs): Ashbeer Saini 74, Syed Saqib Ahmed 75, Viraat Badhwar 78, Pranav Mehra 79, Ankur Chadha 81.
