Rs. 25 lakh for women's hostel

HASSAN: Delivering the valedictory address at the 25th year celebration of the peethadhikara of seer Nandeeswara Swamiji of Pushpagiri Math in Yalagunda village near Hassan on Monday, Minister for Public Works and Energy H.D. Revanna announced a grant of Rs. 25 lakh for the women's hostel being started by the Pushpagiri Samsthana.

Drinking water scheme

Mr. Revanna promised to provide Yagachi river water for Arsikere and Halebeedu towns (the drinking water supply schemes for the two towns has been lingering since long). Minister for Women and Child Development H.K. Kumaraswamy lauded the Pushpagiri Samsthana that had taken up number of development works that otherwise was the duty of Government.

H.S. Prakash, Hassan MLA, announced release of Rs. 2.5 lakh from the MLA's Local Area Development Fund for the development works taken up by samsthana in Yalagunda.

Zilla Panchayat president Annappa Shetty, vice-president Kamakshi Raju, Janata Dal (S) leader K.M. Shivalinge Gowda and others were present.
