Global convention

on peace

NEW DELHI: A team comprising four students and two teachers from Apeejay School, Faridabad, attended a global convention on "Peace and Sustainability'' held in Dubai recently. The convention was organised by Dubai Municipality and International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics, Lund University, Sweden.

As many as 600 students and teachers from all over the world participated in the four-day long "Youth Masters Programme and the Global Environment: Youth Convention-2006''. Students from different countries presented their projects on organic agriculture and micro propagation.

Anti-depressant treatment

NEW DELHI: German researches have warned that people taking anti-depressants may find their driving skills impaired.

While quoting a study published in "Journal of Clinical Psychiatry'' here on Monday, Heart Care Foundation of India president Dr. K. K. Aggarwal said effects of sedation may lead to an impaired driving performance.

In the study, effects of anti-depressant treatment were examined on psychomotor functions related to driving skills in 100 patients. Sixteen per cent of patients had severe impairments and in 60 per cent of patients, mid-to-moderate impairments were observed.

Oneness Youth Gratitude Day

NEW DELHI: To spread awareness about its youth diksha and other programmes being held on its campus at Vardhayepalam in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, the Oneness University, Delhi Chapter, on Monday celebrated Oneness Youth Gratitude Day at the Sri Ram Centre for Arts and Culture here.

In his address on the occasion, former Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police U. N. B. Rao spoke about the importance of understanding the aspirations of the youth and guiding them so that they play an important role in nation building.

Musical evening

NEW DELHI: Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, a socio-spiritual organisation, hosted a musical evening "Bhaj Govindam -- The Musical Splendor" at Kamani Auditorium here over the weekend. The main attractions of the evening were musical performances and a dance performance "Shiv Tandav''. These were performed by artists trained at the workshops conducted by the Sansthan. The Sansthan conducts two workshops "Anhad'' and "Taal'' for music and dance respectively.
