Slum children to feature in telefilm

WITH A MESSAGE: Shooting is in progress of `Footpath' in Berhampur on Tuesday.

BERHAMPUR : Intermingling with slum children a group of child artistes are shooting for a children's tele-film, Footpath, at a slum of the city near the new bus stand.

The director of the film, Pradipta Mishra, said five children of this slum and two of its women were also part of the cast of the tele-film. It is the story of three children, who have run away from their homes to become part of the footpathThe GSN production, which is producing the film. did not prefer to engage professional child artistes rather it had a screen test to choose talents from common children.

Message

Mr Mishra said the tele-film having a message to treat all children as equals would be telecast through the cable networks in various cities and towns of the state. Special screening of the film would also be held at schools to make students realise how lucky they are to get scope for education.
