Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police on Tuesday seized 801 pirated Compact Discs (CDs) and Digital Video Disks (DVDs) and arrested two persons.

Following reports that pirated CDs and DVDs were in circulation through lending libraries and for outright sale at throw away prices, the Commissioner of Police, C.K. Gandhi Rajan, constituted a special team.

The team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order-West) R. Chakravarthy, raided a shop on NH road in the city on Monday night and recovered the CDs and DVDs. The shop owner and his assistant were arrested. A case has been registered.
