State flayed for not finding alternate solution to power crisis Cadre to pitch red flags in lands as symbolic gesture
HYDERABAD:
The CPI will also lead farmers in laying siege to sub-stations in protest against poor power supply to agriculture on December 28, the day Telugu Desam issued a call for similar demonstrations throughout the State.
CPI State secretary K. Narayana told a meeting convened to mark the 81st foundation day celebrations of the party here on Tuesday that it was decided to stage demonstrations near the sub-
stations in districts and at Vidyut Soudha, the headquarters of AP TRANSCO and GENCO here, on that day. He warned that CPI would intensify the agitation if the power situation did not improve.
Mr. Narayana criticised the State Government for not drawing up plans to meet power shortage that was caused by increased demand on account of free supply to farmers.
He failed to understand why the Government did not purchase power or take up hydel generation.
