HYDERABAD: The IQRA Society for Career Guidance has organised a free counselling session on technical and vocational education here on Tuesday. Speaking at the session, Andhra Pradesh Employment and Training joint director Md. Ibrahim Khan said the demand for technically and vocationally qualified personnel would multiply at a mind-boggling pace in the near future. The reason, he said, was that the skilled workforce in India was as low as about five percent, compared to the 60 per cent in other countries. Pointing out that only eight per cent of students pursued vocational courses as against a target of 25 per cent, Mr. Khan urged more students to consider vocational education as a viable career choice.
Agreement
E-learning solutions provider Excelsoft has signed a five-year agreement with the Europe-based Wolters Kluwer Education (WKE) for the use of the former's e-learning application framework across all WKE publishing houses. The agreement will also cover development of custom e-learning applications on the framework for each of the publishing houses, according to a press release.
