Winter classes

CHENNAI: Tamilnadu Science and Technology Centre will be organising a three-day winter classes on astronomy and astrophysics for the benefit of school students in classes VII, VIII and IX from December 29 to 31.

The programme will be conducted at the BM Birla Planetarium, Periyar Science and Technology Centre.

The course content includes celestial coordinate systems, solar systems, studies on the moon, birth and evolution of stars, galaxies, cosmology and telescopes.

Only 50 students will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis. Call 24410025.

`Technically transferred'

Around 1,260 telephone numbers starting with 2227 and working in Selaiyur Exchange will be `technically transferred' to a new ESWD Exchange at Rajakilpakkam on Wednesday at 3 p.m., according to a press release from the BSNL.

The new exchange will serve Rajakilpakkam, Madambakkam and adjoining areas of Madambakkam Road. Call 22281234/2281000 for any faults, and if any, can be booked over 22581191.

Programme on SMEs

Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association and Friedrich Naumann Foundation, Germany, will organise a programme on `Credit rating for SME Excellence' on Wednesday at Hotel Le Royal Meridian. The SMERA and SIDBI are supporting the programme.

Reunion Day

The graduates of the 1971 batch of the College of Engineering, Guindy are organising a reunion on December 30 on the campus to commemorate 35 years of graduation.
