Two commit suicide

HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old woman, Shailaja, and a private firm employee C.B. Mudire Veeran, 26, who lived in adjacent streets of Vinayakanagar in Neredmet, committed suicide by hanging in their respective houses on Tuesday.

Neredmet police Inspector A. Balakoti said none of them left any suicide notes. "We're not yet sure about the motive behind their deaths," he said. Shailaja's father died a few years ago. Her mother Laxmi, who works as labourer, was the only earning member in the family. Both her mother and younger sister were away when she hanged herself from the ceiling fan around 2 p.m.

An hour later, Veeran too committed suicide in his house in similar fashion. Police said his relatives first saw him hanging from the ceiling.
