Expert calls for early completion of projects

Staff Reporter

Seminar held on emerging technologies

BHIMAVARAM: P. Rama Raju, Chief Engineer, Inter-water resources and Irrigation, Computer Aided Design wing, on Wednesday said that the delay in completing the Indira Sagar Project would hamper the industrial progress in the State. He was speaking at a seminar on `emerging technologies in civil engineering for sustainable development' at S.R.K.R. Engineering College here.

He said that Visakhapatnam, an industrial nerve centre in the State, was already feeling the pinch. Scarcity of water had cast a shadow over industrial expansion in the city, he added. Early completion of Inchampalli and Indira Sagar was a must to meet the industrial and irrigation needs, he said. He expressed the hope that the Centre would accord all the clearances for the Indira Sagar project in time. College principal D. Ranga Raju was in the chair.
