HYDERABAD: The city police arrested two Sudanese nationals for allegedly trying to molest a woman at M. J. Market junction here on Tuesday. Mohammed Osman (22) and his roommate Ghasim (25), residing at Mahendra Hills in Secunderabad, were returning home on a motorcycle after completing visa formalities at the Special Branch office at the old Police Commissioner's office in Purani Haveli when they saw a 38-year-old woman travelling in an autorickshaw with her two sons. Even though the woman seriously warned them for passing obscene comments, the duo did not mend their ways and allegedly tried to misbehave with her. When she raised an alarm, passersby and traffic police rushed to her rescue and beat them up before handing them over to the Begum Bazaar police. The police registered cases under Sections 353 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 323 (causing injuries) under the Indian Penal Code and remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days. Police inquiries revealed that Ghasim is a final year computer science student of a private college in Mehdipatnam while Osman, who came to the city a month ago, is pursuing a computer course in an institute. Ghasim has been staying in the city for the last three years.
