Textile workers stage protest

BANGALORE: Members of the Garments and Textile Workers Union affiliated to the New Trade Union Initiative held a dharna in front of Texports Overseas Group on Mysore Road on Wednesday.

They were protesting against the suspension of union secretary Rukmini for allegedly mobilising unorganised workers in the field.

Union's vice-president K.R. Jayaram and Hasan Mansoor of the People's Union of Civil Liberties demanded that the management should withdraw the suspension order.
