CHENNAI: The northeast monsoon rains have ceased over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and adjoining parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on 28th December 2006.

The minimum temperatures fell appreciably at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, fell at one or two places over rest north Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Arogyavaram recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 12 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (Valid until Saturday morning): Dry weather will prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka.
