Letters to the Editor
The efforts of Al-Jazeera (English), France-24 and CCTV 9 at challenging the Anglo-U.S. dominance of the international media scene are commendable ("Now news from beyond London and Atlanta," Dec. 22). They will surely offer a different perspective on global developments. The bold ventures should serve as an example for India in its pursuit of Vision 2020.
Rishi Rathi,
It is heartening to know that three new channels have been launched as the East's answer to the West's BBC and CNN. India too needs to come up with a TV channel. Like many others, we too have been seeing the world through the eyes of the West for too long.
