Red Cross Society elections
Society general secretary N.G. Narayana told presspersons here on Thursday that election of nine members to the managing committee of the society would be held after the general body meeting. Minister for Health and Family Welfare R. Ashok, who is chairman of the society's State unit, would preside over the meeting to be held at KAS Officers' Research and Training Centre on Bhagwan Mahaveer Road, he said. Staff Reporter
Factories cut price for sugarcane
It was decided at a meeting that sugarcane would be bought at Rs. 900 a tonne instead of Rs. 1,000 a tonne announced earlier. This was because of the fall in the price of sugar in the wholesale market, management representatives said. President of the district small sugar factories association S.B.
