NEW DELHI: After struggling to detect various ways of power theft in its area, power distribution company BSES Yamuna Power Limited has now come across a few unique cases of forgery and misrepresentation wherein impostors tried to con innocent customers by providing false and unauthorised assurances. These cases came to light when some alert BSES customers visited the BYPL Mayur Vihar - II Division Office carrying a pamphlet allegedly printed on behalf of BYPL. The pamphlets had the word "Khushkhabari" (good news) prominently printed on them. They tried to spread the misinformation that BYPL had launched a scheme on December 1 that would till February 28, 2007, providing customers with services like securing new connections without any supporting documents, settlement of dues on existing meters, load enhancement and settlement of power theft bills.
