BANGALORE: A man was killed on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a truck in Nelamangala Police station limits on Thursday. The police gave the name of the deceased as Shivakumar, a native of Kunigal who was working at a dental equipment centre in the city. His wife, Sudha, who was riding pillion sustained minor injuries. The newly wed couple were on their way to Bangalore from Kunigal. The Nelamangala Police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the absconding truck driver.
Pedestrian killed
A pedestrian was killed on the spot when a truck hit him on Tumkur Road on Wednesday night. The incident occurred near Hessaraghatta Cross. The Peenya Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Driver dies
An autorickshaw driver died on the spot when an unidentified vehicle hit the autorickshaw in the early hours of Thursday on Kanakapura Road. The police gave the name of the deceased as Shiva, a native of Hassan district. The incident occurred near the Metro around 1.30 a.m. The Banashankari Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Seven injured
Seven people sustained injuries in a freak accident involving a truck, a tipper and a maxi cab in Nelamangala police station limits on Thursday. The incident had occurred near Kunigal Circle on NH 4 when a truck hit the tipper, which in turn hit the cab, the police said.
