Jaipur: The architectural beauty and picturesque locales of Rajasthan has appealed not only film-makers, but also the Non-resident Indian community an increasing number of whom is organising marriages of their sons and daughters in the State. The event managers here organising marriage ceremonies in Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan are minting money by organising marriages in Rajasthan. Mohit Sand, one of the wedding managers said, Indians in general and Rajasthanis in particular who are settled in countries like U.S., U.K., Dubai and Germany, are coming to Rajasthan to keep the generation next in touch with their roots, culture and traditions. Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur are the favourite destinations for such marriages and places like Mehrangarh Fort (Jodhpur), Devigarh Fort (Udaipur), Lake Palace (Udaipur), Rajmahal Palace (Jaipur), City Palace (Jaipur) are booked a year before the marriage. Asked how much an NRI wedding costs if everything is organised by marriage manager, Sand said: "It costs around 1.5 crore to 2.5 crore which includes everything from transportation, accommodation, four-day ceremonies, celebrity invitation, food, and the site for the marriage. On December 12 there were nearly 20 marriages of NRI families in various parts of the State. These days money is spent on the decoration and the stage for the bride and groom. Then, the hosts want that in all wedding ceremonies, the Mehndi Rasam, Tilak Rasam, some Bollywood celebrities should be there.
