At least 17 passengers, including four women, sustained injuries. They were rushed to nearby Hi-Tech Medical College Hospital. The incident took place at around 6 p.m near Palasuni on NH 5 when the bus driver lost control in his attempt to save a motorcycle rider, Prafulla Sahoo, who escaped unhurt, said. The bus, Pabansoot, had started from Bhubaneswar and was on its way to Vingarpur, 20 km away from here. The bike rider was trying to overtake the bus. Vehicular movement on the busy NH-5 came to standstill after the accident. Soon Cuttack as well as Khurda police stopped vehicles from both the sides as the place of accident got crowded.
