Teenager's death in road accident sparks tension

BANGALORE:
A 16-year-old boy was killed after a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus rammed his bicycle in Kadugondanahalli police station limits on Friday morning.
The police said Zhaashan of Govindapura was killed in the accident that occurred around 9 a.m. on Govindapura Main Road. The bus was bound for K.R. Market from Govindapura. After the accident, the driver jumped out of the bus and ran away.
Enraged by the boy's death, hundreds of people gathered at the accident spot and hurled stones at the bus, smashing its windscreens. The public staged a demonstration and blocked the road, demanding action against the driver.
Following the accident, there was tension in the area for some time.
