Vice-President arrives on a two-day visit

Puducherry: Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who is on a two day visit to Puducherry, was given a warm reception at the helipad on Saturday. Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and his Cabinet colleagues, Member of Parliament M. Ramadoss, Speaker R. Radhakrishnan, Deputy Speaker A.V. Sreedharan, Chairperson of Puducherry municipality B. Sridevi, legislators, PCC president P. Shanmugham, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam convener R.V. Janakiraman, former Speaker M.D.R. Ramachandran, Chief Secretary Praia Mehra, Secretaries and Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar were among those who were present.

AICC general secretary and Chief Whip in Rajya Sabha V. Narayansamy accompanied the Vice-President from Delhi to Puducherry.

The Vice-President is scheduled to offer prayers at Sri Manakula Vinayakar Temple on Sunday. He would also visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the Auroville before wrapping up his two day visit to the Union Territory.
